This is going to be good!  The one hour special, “UN-BROKE: What You Need to Know About Money” will air on Friday, May 29th @ 8pm on ABC.  It’s an unconventional look at the fundamentals of everyday finance with all the facts about credit cards, mortgages, stocks and bonds, investing and 401(K)s.  It’s hosted by Mellody Hobson (Good Morning America and The Tom Joyner Morning Show) and features special guests Will Smith, Samuel L. Jackson and Cedric the Entertainer to name a few.  Check out this preview:

It’s hard to believe, it was on this day in 2003 that Alabama powerhouse Ruben Studdard was named winner of American Idol.  Ruben edged out fellow finalist Clay Aiken to snap up the title and a million dollar recording contract.  Recently, Ruben sat down with me to discuss his new CD, his love life and how he “Aint Misbehavin”.

Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey are two powerhouses behind the much anticipated film “Precious”.  It stars, MoNique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey, Sherri Shephard, Lenny Kravitz and newcomer Gabourey Sidibe who plays the starring role of “Precious”.  The film which is based on the novel “Push” by Sapphire will hit theaters in November.  I can hardly wait to see this film, check out the trailer!

 The Diva who gave Ruben Studdard the nickname “Velvet Teddy Bear” is coming out with a jewelry line! Gladys Knight who is a famed singer can now add actress and business woman to her resume.  The Gladys Knight Jewelry Line will be sold at major department stores and through the Home Shopping Network. It debuts in December.  Also check out Gladys in the new Tyler Perry Madea movie “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” hitting theaters in September.

Remember the famous Thriller video that co-starred former Playboy model and actress Ola Ray?  Well, now more than 25 years later, the 48 year old P.Y.T. is suing Mike for breach of contract; for royalties she alleges Micheal Jackson has not paid for the music video which has endured great popularity especially since the re-release for its 25th Anniversary. Ola says she doesn’t want to be starting something, but “she just wants to get her fair share of payments from this extremely successful project that she’s very proud of…”  Check out what some of your favorite stars have to say about Micheal’s musical influence.
