Rest In Peace Micheal…

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

It’s been confirmed that The King of Pop Micheal Jackson died today at the age of 50.  Micheal was taken to a L.A. hospital at around 12:30 L.A. time after suffering from cardiac arrest. He was preparing for his 50 date tour in London next month which ironically was called the “This Is It” tour.  It’s truly hard to believe this pop icon is gone.  We pray for Micheal’s family (especially his 3 young children) and his million of fans all over the world.  There will never be another like Micheal Jackson…rest in peace.

The Legendary Ed McMahon dies at 86

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

He’s famous for the way he bolstered Johnny Carson with a loud Heeeere’s Johnny on the Tonight Show for 30 years.  I remember him growing up as the host of “Star Search” helping expose talent like Sinbad, Destiny’s Child, Aaliyah, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and a long list of others.

Mr. McMahon had bone cancer among other illnesses and recently battled a series of financial problems after breaking his neck two years ago.  I had the pleasure of meeting this legend many years ago and he was as nice as the man next door.  He will be missed. Ed McMahon was 86.

Dang Spike!

spike-and-madea.jpg

Recently Spike Lee dissed our man Tyler Perry! In an interview with Ed Gordon, Lee said that Tyler’s TV shows (House of Payne and Meet The Browns) reminded him of Amos ‘n’ Andy.  What!?  So far, Tyler hasn’t responded, but I’ve got a feeling Madea will find a way to get her two cents in.  Tyler Perry realizes his brand of theatre, TV and movies isn’t loved by everybody, but he DOES have an audience that loves him (I’m one of ‘em).  I especially love to hear Brown sing “This is your Grandaddy, your Granddaddy….”LOL

What’s really going on Jamie and Halle?!!

Monday, June 8th, 2009

On May 30th, Spike TV had it’s “Guys Choice” Awards.  Jamie Foxx presented Halle Berry with the “Decade of Hotness Award”.  Once Halle hit the stage, I don’t know what happened!  This steamy photo gives you an idea of how one would be confused, considering Halle has a boyfriend (the father of her child), model Gabriel Aubry.  I’m guessing this was a publicity stunt, but considering the other photos are too steamy for me to show on this site…I’m not sure what to think! You can see the show when it airs on June 21st.

This Week on Jammin’ Journal

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Be sure to check out my weekly talk show “The Jammin’ Journal” on Sunday, June 7th at 6:30 am.  This week the focus is on alcohol and drug use amongst teens and young adults.  My guests are from the Wisconsin Medical Society Alliance.  I’ll also talk to the Alcohol and other Drug Abuse Prevention Coordinator at UW-Milwaukee and the father of a young lady who died at UWM after consuming alcohol and prescription drugs.  It’s serious subject matter that every parent should hear.
