Tuesday, February 23rd marks National Pancake Day across America. IHOP is once again celebrating by serving millions of free pancakes to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. The answer to my Black History month trivia question today was Vonetta Flowers.  She competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics as a bobsledder and made history becoming the first African-American to win a Gold Medal in the Winter Olympics.  Check out this special ESPN interview that is sure to inspire you.

As you may know, the movie “Precious” was released in 18 cities last weekend.  The Director of the film, Lee Daniels appeared on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and said the movie will be released in more U.S. cities this weekend (Nov. 13) and by Nov. 20th it will be in full blast nationwide.   So….that means we have to hang on for one more week before we can go  see this powerful film starring Mo’Nique, Paula Patterson, Mariah Carey and the young woman everyone’s talking about–Gabby Sidibe.  She recently visited the Ellen Show and showed out!

One of my favorite celebrities is Rev. Run of Run DMC. Is it because he was with one of the hottest groups of the 80’s and helped put hip-hop on the map?  Yes, but mainly because he has the cutest family ever on MTV’s RUN’S HOUSE.
