As you may know, the movie “Precious” was released in 18 cities last weekend.  The Director of the film, Lee Daniels appeared on the Tom Joyner Morning Show and said the movie will be released in more U.S. cities this weekend (Nov. 13) and by Nov. 20th it will be in full blast nationwide.   So….that means we have to hang on for one more week before we can go  see this powerful film starring Mo’Nique, Paula Patterson, Mariah Carey and the young woman everyone’s talking about–Gabby Sidibe.  She recently visited the Ellen Show and showed out!

Remember superstar slugger Sammy Sosa?!  Well he recently showed up at the Latin Grammy’s with a lighter and brighter face.  Literally!  He appeared to be at least 3-4 shades lighter and it was noticed by everyone.  He claims a skin cream that he uses to “soften” his skin is responsible and he claims the TV lights didn’t help.  He also added he’s not trying to look like Mike and doesn’t have any kind of skin disorder.  Check out the before and after:

The Soul Train Music Awards are set to return November 29th on BET and their new Centric network.  The big talk surrounding the show is the kiss felt around the world between Toni Braxton and 25 year old Trey Songz.  The two did a duet together entitled “Yesterday”.  After their performance, they sealed it with a kiss.  Whether it was planned, staged, whatever…Toni’s husband Keri wasn’t feeling it, he reportedly got up and left and the next day ”signed those papers”.  They are now seperated after 8 years of  marriage and two kids.  Toni has a new CD coming out in February 2010.  I’ll let you judge for yourself, was this kiss worth screwing up her marriage?

While Precious opened in a limited release of only 18 screens nationwide, it earned over $1.8 million in its opening weekend, earning over $100,000 per theater. It is expected to drastically increase its availability by November 13. The film holds the record for the highest grossing film opening in fewer than 100 theaters. It also holds the record for the highest grossing average per screen in under 50 theaters.

A star is born!!

A Reunion of “heavyweight” proportions will take place today on Oprah when boxers Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield reunite.  It will be the first time that Holyfield and Tyson have spoken face-to-face since their infamous bout in 1997 that involved Mike biting Evander’s ear and having his boxing license revoked for more than a year!  Don’t remember the drama?  Check out this video to refresh your memory:

An arrest has been made in connection to the beating death of Ashley Jewell, the ex -fiance of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast member Kandi Burruss.  Homicide detectives have charged Frederick Richardson with voluntary manslaughter.  Jewell, also known as A.J. appeared frequently on the Bravo Reality Show. He suffered massive head injuries during a fight in the parking lot of an Atlanta strip club.  Kandi would like for her fans to keep praying for her and Jewell’s six kids (She has legal custody of two).  In this video recorded before A.J.’s death, Kandi talks about their relationship:

Everybody that is somebody is talking about how Kanye West dissed Taylor Swift at the VMA’s.  In my opinion Kanye is one of the most arrogant individuals walking the earth and needs to apologize.  If you missed it, Taylor won Best Music Video (her first) As she gave her speech, Kanye walks onto the stage, snatches the mic and says “I’m sorry, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time”.  Even Beyonce was looking like “what the…”  At any rate, B won Video of the Year and gave her acceptance time to Taylor–now that’s true class!  Here’s the video:

Serena got a little frustrated with the line empire at the U.S. Open.  She was obviously heated from the call and here’s what happened…For the record I’m not mad at you Serena, you’re still my hero!
